Thorns: The Devious Fae Customer Reviews

:
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars from Gizmos Reviews -- Fantasy Romance : Thorns, by author Katerina Martinez, is the first installment in the authors The Devious Fae series. This story is set in the same world as the authors previous series called The Coldest Fae, except, instead of Winter, the author takes us to the Fae court of Spring where readers are introduced to an entirely new cast of characters. Avery Rose is just finishing up a set with her band, when she not only kisses a strange man, but finds something alive in a dumpster. Rell is a part drake, part sprite, and all attitude like Mushu from Mulan. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Zv -- Another Action Packed Adventure in Arcadia : I really liked the previous series set in Arcadia so was excited to read this new series. Although I did have some problems with Avery, our female mc, to start with by the end of the book I really liked the story. The storyline is exciting and very entertaining and the characters are extraordinary, from Elaith the au pair to Rell the Drake and then there is the mysterious and sexy Viscount! There’s twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat, there’s sass and snark to have you laughing out loud and there’s secrets and mystery to be solved! The author draws you in with her writing so much so that you feel like you are right there, alongside Avery, on her adventure into the land of the fae. I look forward to the next book ( Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Abbie T -- Stellar read : As always, Katerina Martinez lures you into her universe like a goddess! The stories she tells make me feel like I am in the scene, watching it unfold before my eyes. Characters become friend or foe, I can feel the breeze and smell the air. Her unique brand of author magic never fails to awe and entertain. Enter the Katerinaverse and become enchanted, wishing you never had to leave. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Good story : Avery sings in bars with her band and barely makes enough to survive and She is often hungover. She shares an apartment with Krady. While walking home from the bar she rescues a dragon from a dumpster then must run from creatures that are pursuing it. She figures she must be hallucinating the dragon. Then these people appear in her home to kidnap her roommate. Avery is thinking this is the worse hallucination then she too is kidnapped and things just keep getting worse. • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Amber Burnett -- Quirky and Fun : I always enjoy reading about redheads. This was a fun adventure through a Fae realm that had enough twists and turns to keep me up late to finish it. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Benjamin Solheim -- Spellbinding good read : She is starting to write herself into a corner with kidnapping young girl ends up in Faire but still and interesting read nonetheless. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Fantastic and magical read : What a great story. Beautiful and I've descriptions and was sucked into the story immediately. Would recommend 100% if u love Far and magic. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kristen Lewendon -- By the end, I was fully invested : I had a bit of a rough start with this book. Avery is so unlike me, so unlike anyone I know, I had a difficult time grasping on to her motives. She’s independent to a fault, abrasive, and so completely anti-establishment that reading her felt to me how I imagine a cat feels with their fur stroked the wrong way. On the other hand, I immediately connected with Rell. The sass and snark in this drake-kin are perfectly epic. In my mind I’m largely picturing Mushu from Disney’s Mulan, and even heard most of his lines spoken in Eddie Murphy’s voice. Theirs is an uneasy alliance. But I kept reading, and I found the cracks in Avery’s ‘tough girl’ armor that I could connect with. By the end, I was fully invested in her situation and I’m already eagerly looking forward to finding out what happens next. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2021 )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from mona -- Just wonderful : Was excited when i came across this book as a suggestion and fell in love! Funny banter, shocking plot twist and a storyline that is easy to follow. Only feel that the Viscount should maybe have a name to put to the handsome face.
